About
The external lighting project of the Church of SS. Martino and Bernardino has been developed in accordance with Swiss regulations against light pollution, a significant issue that is strongly addressed in this area of Ticino.
Every element involved in the lighting intervention has been carefully designed to avoid dangerous and uncontrolled light spill. The pole-mounted luminaires have directed and confined light within the outline of the façades and optical accessories to protect areas that should not be illuminated. Even in the case of ground recesses, products with tempered glass, low power, and diffuse light distribution have been chosen.
Furthermore, a management and control system for the lighting installation has been planned, which includes automatic shutdown at 10:00 PM, without harming the environment and various forms of nocturnal life.
