About
In 2021, SPLD intervened on the lighting system of the Church of S. Andrea di Lamone, with the aim of improving the perceptual quality of the space without altering its architectural and liturgical balance. The intervention focused on the need for integration and discretion, through the use of wall-mounted fixtures, invisible from the assembly's point of view and capable of providing depth and articulation to the surfaces.
The light is distributed with a mix of direct, indirect, and accent emissions, enhancing the volumes, materials, and religious symbols. The centrality of the visitor has been assumed as a compositional reference, with the aim of ensuring visual comfort and liturgical coherence.
The system is managed through a system of luminous controls, allowing for dynamic scenarios - from daily functions to solemn celebrations - ensuring efficiency and flexibility. The design respected technical and architectural constraints, offering the church a new luminous identity, measured and contemporary.
