About
The Collegiate Church of Saints Peter and Stephen in Bellinzona, an important religious building from the 15th century, is a structure of high religious and symbolic value, as well as artistic and architectural significance, given the presence of valuable works of art within.
The lighting project takes into account and enhances all these aspects: on one hand, the lighting systems do not interfere with the architectural beauty of the church, while at the same time, they highlight its most important art elements with light.
The lighting techniques adopted include direct lighting (on the nave); indirect lighting (towards the ceiling); accent lighting (used to enhance architectural details). Furthermore, to give depth and thickness to the side chapels, indirect light, directed towards the ceiling, and direct light towards the friezes, paintings, and statues preserved within them have been used.
The activation of the lighting fixtures has been grouped and articulated into various lighting regimes (service, weekday, festive, solemnity, and guided tours).
